Mr. Wilbur Van Schaick, 79, of State Highway 5, Fort Plain, NY passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Little Falls Hospital. Born on September 30, 1940 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of Harold A. Van Schaick and Adella H. Knapik Van Schaick. He attended Fort Plain High School and had been a resident of the local area for 58 years. Mr. Van Schaick worked for the Laborers Local 157 in Schenectady for 51 years, until his retirement 20 years ago. He enjoyed trapping, fishing, hunting, and was a bee keeper with over 180 hives for over 30 years. On May 12, 1962 in Little Falls, NY, Wilbur was married to Virginia Sweet Van Schaick. His grandson, Luke Van Schaick predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Van Schaick of Fort Plain, NY; sons, Robert Van Schaick, Richard Van Schaick; daughter, Brenda Van Schaick; granddaughter, McKaya and Christopher Dias; and his beloved dog, Ginger.
