Mrs. Viola M. Stefanski, 92, of Canajoharie, New York died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Palatine Nursing Home, following a brief illness. Born on July 17, 1929 in Canajoharie, NY, she was the daughter of John J. Tiberio and Melinda V. Hulsaver Tiberio. She was educated at Canajoharie Schools and was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Stefanski worked at various restaurants in the Canajoharie area for many years. She worked at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie, in addition to being a mother and homemaker. She lived and loved for her family. She was an animal lover, full of fun, and took no nonsense. Viola was a truly genuine person. On August 9, 1969 in Canajoharie, NY, Viola was married to Paul A. Stefanski. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1993. Mrs. Stefanski is survived by her daughters, Deborah L. Venette of Canajoharie, NY, Suzanne L. Kayhart of Canajoharie, NY, Deanna L. Congdon of Canajoharie, NY; sons, Edward J. Congdon, Jr. of Sprakers, NY, Brian J. Congdon of Fultonville, NY; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 11:00-1:00PM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY.
