Ms. Verna J. Siegle, 57, of West Main Street, St. Johnsville, New York died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital in Utica, following a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. Born on October 5, 1959 in Whittier, California, she was the daughter of Fred Siegle, Jr. and Ethel Jane Buford Siegle. She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 1978 and had been a resident of the local area since 1968. She was a school bus aide for Browns Transportation in Fonda, NY. Verna enjoyed reading and had a great network of friends on facebook. Ms. Siegle is survived by her son, Ben Siegle of St. Johnsville, NY; brother, Richard Siegle of Canajoharie, NY; sisters, Patty Clapper of Canajoharie, NY, Louella Varnadore of Gloversville, NY, Connie Siegle of Canajoharie, NY; beloved nephews, Chad Herron (Heidi) of Gloversville, NY, Kyle Herron (Stacy) of Nelliston, NY; great-nephews, Andy, Zach; great-niece, Cassy; several aunts and cousins. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Burial will take place in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Ms. Verna J. Siegle may be made to the charity of one's choice.
