Mrs. Theresa Luciano Ripepi, 95, of West Main Street, Nelliston, New York, passed away, Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Born on May 15, 1924 in Fonda, NY, she was the daughter of Dominic Luciano and Louretta Barletta Luciano. She attended Fonda Schools and had been a resident of the Nelliston area since 1983, previously residing in St. Johnsville.
She was the owner and operator of Ripepi's Restaurant in St. Johnsville, NY, with her husband, Thomas since 1982. Thomas' sons now run the business. Mrs. Ripepi spent most of her life working in the Restaurant business however, she started working at the age of 16 making gloves.
Mrs. Ripepi was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain.
She loved crocheting, having made many beautiful table cloths, reading, and she enjoyed music.
Mrs. Ripepi was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Thomas R. Ripepi on November 19, 2011. Her first husband of 30 years, Donald Wrobel, whom she married on January 2, 1944 also predeceased her, along with her sisters, Angelina Lapi, Dora D'Arcangelis and brother, John Luciano.
She is survived by her son, Gary and Diane Wrobel of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Matthew and Beth Wrobel, Michelle and David Halvac; 3 great-grandchildren, Avery Wrobel, Angelina Halvac, Wally Halvac; step-children, John and Cookie Ripepi, Jennifer and Robert LaConte.
A prayer service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 9:15AM at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY, followed by the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 12 from 4:00-7:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
