Mrs. Ruth Ellen May, 65, of State Highway 30A, Esperance, NY died on December 2, 2022 at St. Mary's hospital unexpectedly.

She was born in Cooperstown, NY on July 17, 1957, the daughter of Ralph Gordon May and Elizabeth Mae Fitzgibbons May. She attended both Cherry Valley and Canajoharie schools, Graduating from Canajoharie High School in 1975.

Ruth had lived her entire life in the local area, and enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and watching the birds.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, and her siblings, brother James May and sister Carolyn Mabie.

Survivors include her companion, Alvaro Montanye; daughter Beth Montanye Smith; Son Joshua Albert Leach; brothers Stan and Mike May; Sister Linda Winnie; Grandson Ethan Leach and Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be announcing a celebration of life for Ruth later.
