Russell David Smith, 83, of Liverpool, NY and Myrtle Beach, SC died November 11, 2021 at Elderwood Nursing Home. He was born June 7th, 1938 in Fort Plain, N.Y. to Melvin Norman Smith and Dorothy Brandow Smith. Russell graduated from Fort Plain High School, joined the General Electric Company as a draftsman in 1956 and held various positions with the company over the following forty two years, retiring as a Product Engineer in 1998. Russell was predeceased by his wife of sixty five years, Marlin Susan Smith who passed away on October 29th of this year. He is survived by daughters Debra (Gayle) Wiegand and Donna (Jon) Miles of Liverpool, son Gregory D. Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and brother James (Karen) Smith of Chestertown, NY. Russell and Marlin will be interred together during a graveside service at Fort Plain Cemetery on a future date.
