Mr. Robert Bentz, 91, of Division Street, Fort Plain, New York, died early Thursday morning, January 25, 2018, at St. Johnsville Nursing Home.

Born on July 25, 1926 in Fort Plain, NY, he was the son of Joseph and Florence Eutermarks Bentz. He attended Fort Plain High School, and was a lifelong area resident.

He served in the US Army, during World War II.

Robert's life passion was playing golf.  He was a member of the Canajoharie Country Club for years.

His Brothers Rufus, Donald, and Richard Bentz, and Sister Rose Marie Smith all pre-deceased him.

Mr. Bentz is survived by his Nephew Ronald Bentz, as well as several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside Services will be held in the spring and will be announced at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY.
