Mr. Rainer H. Gebhardt, 72, of Summit Hill Road Jordanville, NY passed away at Basset Healthcare of Cooperstown in the early morning of May 28, 2022. Born in Germany on August 7, 1949, the son of Hans K and Marga Ott Gebhardt, both who predeceased him.

He has been a local area resident since he was 5 years old, and graduated from Owen D. Young, Class of 1968.

Rainer was employed at Beech-Nut for over thirty years and received his "golden 90" before his retirement.

In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, watching horse racing, as well as being an avid Yankee, Giants and Syracuse fan. He also always loved and looked forward to being with and doing things with his family.

On December 5, 1981, in the Starkville United Methodist Church he married Mary Monk. The couple celebrated over 40 years of marriage together.

He is survived by his wife Mary Gebhardt; Son Andrew and his wife Sherie; Daughter Meagan and her husband Ryan Gros; Brother Karl Gebhardt; his five grandchildren, Anthony, Alexis, Delaney, Hayden, and Juliann. He also leaves his faithful k-9 companion Riley.

The family will be having a memorial service privately and at a later date.
