Mrs. Nicole "Nicki" A. DeVoe, 77, of Main Street, Fort Plain, New York died unexpectedly Friday, July 10, 2020 at her home.
Born on September 29, 1942 in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of William Gooley and Marion O'Conner Gooley, both predeceasing her. She had been a resident of the Fort Plain area since 1975, previously residing in Amsterdam, as well as Kansas and Connecticut for a brief time.
She attended Perth High School.
She was a mother and homemaker working several part-time jobs throughout the years.
Mrs. DeVoe was of Catholic faith.
She was a past member of the Canajoharie BPOE Eagles #3846 and the Loyal Order of the Moose #853. Nikki was a former Girl Scout Troup Leader. She enjoyed crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On January 30, 1966 at St. Joseph's Church in Broadalbin Nikki was married to John DeVoe. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2007.
Mrs. DeVoe is survived by her daughter, Renee Pomatto and Donald; 3 granddaughters, Mary Pomatto, Desiree Lewis, Adrienne Shoemaker; 1 grandson, Nathaniel Shoemaker; step-grandchildren, Mandy Pomatto, Melanie Pomatto, Parker Wozniak; great-grandchildren, Arianna Lewis, Ryan Cook; sister, Betty Ann Cummings; several half brothers and half sisters; nephew, Walt Cuniff, who she was especially close with; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 11:00AM at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:00-11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery. We ask that anyone in attendance wear a mask and please follow social distancing guidelines.
