Mrs. Nadine M. Schutter Schwalm, 68, formerly of Willett Street, Fort Plain died Friday, May 12, 2017 at The Grand in Rome, NY.

Born on March 19, 1949 in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of Bernard Schutter and Thelma Russ Schutter. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 1967. She received her Nurses Aid training at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.

Mrs. Schwalm was employed at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital for 3 years. She then worked for Nathan Littauer Hospital and Beech-Nut for 3 years. She then went to work for Liberty Enterprise in Amsterdam for many years.

She was a member of the Fort Plain Reformed Church and was also a member of Club West in Nelliston.

On January 18, 1975 at The Methodist Parsonage in Ames, NY, Nadine was married to Charles C. Schwalm. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2006. She was also predeceased by half-sister, Beverly Darling

Mrs. Schwalm is survived by her daughter, Christina Marie Denton and her fiancé Erica Grant of Oneonta; sister, Maureen Hanchett of Randall, NY; Grandchildren Ryan and Cassandra; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Graveside service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday May 17, 2017 at 10:00AM at Ames Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center St., Fort Plain, NY.
