Mrs. Leona Smith, 77, of State Highway 10, Fort Plain, New York passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown. She was born on February 6, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Andrew Clark and Rose O'Conner Clark. She started school in Amsterdam, later attending Canajoharie High School. She loved to be with her kids and have a lot of cookouts. She liked to camp and have a few drinks around the fire. Her husband, Harry F. Smith, Sr.; son, Harry F. Smith, Jr.; sons-in-law, Chris McCann, Frank Edwards; grandson, Keith McCann; brother, David Clark predeceased her. Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Laurie (Mark) Hisert, Sr. of Fort Plain, NY, Sherene (Chris) Cook of Fort Plain, NY, Koreal (Robert) Young of Fort Plain, NY, Tara McCann of Cherry Valley, Debbie Smith of Fort Plain, NY, Cindy Edwards of Edinburgh, Brian Smith of Herkimer, NY, Harold Smith of Amsterdam, NY; sisters, Jessie Ciani, Barbara Knoblock; brother, James Clark; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 11:00am at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Rural Park (Inghams Mills) Cemetery in Little Falls, NY.
