Mrs. Laura M. Ciani, 91, formerly of Highland Terrace, Fort Plain, most recently of Palatine Nursing Home, passed away on December 19th, 2022.

She was born on January 9, 1931, in the Town of Charleston, Ny, the daughter of the late Edward Wrobel and Lena Wood Wrobel. She was a lifelong resident and was educated at the former Fultonville School.

Mrs. Ciani was employed at the Fort Plain Central School in the cafeteria for over 35 years, retiring in 1997.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain, NY.

On November 18, 1989, at the former St. James Roman Catholic Church in Fort Plain, Laura was married to Tony N. Ciani. He predeceased her in death on September 22, 2001.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Dewitt Conrad in 1983; sons Thomas E. Conrad and Wayne A Conrad; sister, Catherine W. Sweeney

Mrs. Ciani is survived by her son Dennis D. Conrad; 3 stepsons, Michael L. Ciani, Anthony Ciani, James H. Ciani; several siblings; 3 Granddaughters, 6 step-granddaughters; 1 great grandson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Graveside service will be held in the spring at Fort Plain Cemetery, a time and date will be announced at that time.
