Mrs. Kathleen M. Ortell-Simpson, 74, of Prospect Street, Johnstown, New York died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at her home. Born on July 29, 1943 of Gloversville, NY, she was the daughter of Raymond Ortell and Margaret Sleezer Ortell. She was a graduate of Johnstown High School and was a lifetime area resident. Most recently she worked for Rome State of New York Office of Mental Rehabilitation and Developmental Disabilities. Kathleen was very involved with her grandchildren and enjoyed crafting. Her parents predeceased her. Mrs. Ortell-Simpson is survived by her 3 daughters, Kelli Simpson of Broadalbin, NY, Tammi Simpson of Johnstown, NY, Debbi Simpson-Logan and her husband, Artie of Stone Arabia, NY; brother, Raymond Ortell of Galway, NY; grandchildren, Rylee Hyney and Federica Margarido, Ayecia Simpson, Baylee Simpson, Gregory and Joshua St. Denis, Troy and Kaila DeBlock, Branson Logan, Trent Logan, Maci Rose, Graisen Rose; great-grandchildren, Christian Hyney, Jason DeBlock, Canilla Hyney. The family will be having a celebration of Kathleen's life privately on Saturday, April 21st at her home. A public graveside service will be held at Galway Cemetery at a later date and will be announced. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Kathleen M. Ortell-Simpson may be made to the Charity of one's choice.
