Katherine Anne Byrnes, 76, of Sharon Springs, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Basset Medical Center in Cooperstown.

She was born on Tuesday, September 27, 1949, in the Town of Niskyuana, the daughter of the late James and the late Nellie (Shepard) Flynn. Katherine married the love of her life, Stephen Byrnes, on July 6, 1968, in Schenectady.

Katherine was a loving homemaker and enjoyed staying home to raise her daughters.

Survivors include: her loving husband, Steve, and their four daughters, Kelly, Stephanie, Brenda, and Sarah, as well as nine grandchildren, Brian, Gwendolynne, James, Rory, Samuel, Thomas, Rhiannon, Tatiana, Gabriel, and five great-grandchildren, Nikolai, Ella, Liam, Lucy, and a new baby boy on the way.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at Fusion Community Church, located in Cobleskill, NY, and will be announced at a later date.
