Mr. Joseph Michael Trembley, 82, of E. Main Street, Nelliston, NY, passed away on June 2, 2026, at the Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown, NY, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born on November 16, 1943, in Little Falls, NY, the son of the late Charles Victor Trembley and Genoria Rimkis Trembley.
He was educated in Nelliston and Fort Plain Schools.
For many years, he was the owner and operator of Trembley Esso/Exxon of Nelliston, while doing this, he drove a school bus, as well as working for H and R Block. After selling his service station, he drove for Browns Transportation and then worked as a policy analyst for MVP in Schenectady until his retirement.
Joe lived in the local area his entire life and was of the Catholic faith.
He enjoyed Horse Racing and was an avid sports fan who openly liked the Yankees, and some believe he may have been a secret Mets fan also.
He was predeceased by his wife Barbara Trembley in 1990, as well as his companion of over 30 years, Caroline Quinion.
Survivors include his sons, Charles J., and his wife, Lisa Trembley, and Stephen and Shannon Trembley; brother Richard and Michelle Trembley; grandchildren Joseph, Jenna and Kendra Trembley, Kaitlyn O'Neil, Brittani Eaton-Koch and Bryan MacFadden; 2 great grandchildren, Emory and Zoyra; and Caroline's family daughters, Shirley Combs and Sherry (Keith) Rackowski, and her grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be holding a private funeral service, where Joe will be laid to rest next to his wife in Fort Plain Cemetery.
