Mr. John H. Ayers, of Fort Plain, NY, passed away June 16, 2022, with his loving wife by his side at the Mountain Valley Hospice house following a long battle with heart disease. He was born in Johnstown, NY on January 25, 1941, the son of Howard Ayers and Geraldine Fonda Ayers.

He worked for the United States Civil Service until his retirement.

John had lived in the Fort Plain area for the past 35 years, and enjoyed kayaking, fishing, golfing, bowling and raising his gardens.

In January 1984 he married Jeanette Jaycox in the Chapel of the Bells in Reno Nevada.

John was predeceased in death by his son, John H. Ayers, Jr. and his brother Dennis Ayers.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Jeanette Ayers; daughter Jeri Ferreira; sister Sandi King; 8 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A Memorial service will take place at the family's home (739 State highway 163, Fort Plain, NY 13339) at 1:00PM, on Saturday June 25th, 2022.
