Mrs. Joanne Yarush, 71, of Willett Street, Fort Plain, NY, passed away at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home in the early morning of November 1, 2024, following a long illness.

Joanne was born in Little Falls, NY, on November 15, 1952, the daughter of Henry Yarush and Mary Slaper Yarush, who predeceased her.

She has been a mother and homemaker most of her life. She has lived on Willett Street in Fort Plain, NY for thirty-plus years.

She loved seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, doing puzzle books, and her cats.

She was predeceased in death by her granddaughters, Kayla and Marissa, sister Patricia Vosburgh, niece Renee Vosburgh, and her former husband, Bob Slater.

Survivors include her children Tracy Yarush, Dawn and her husband Henry Williams, and John and Andrea Slater; sister Barbara and her husband Jerry Perez; and brother Michael Yarush; grandchildren Erica (David), Keisha (Devon), Collin (Tiffany), Shawn, Donald and Dayton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arrangments are under the direction of Fort Plain Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.

She will be interred at Canajoahrie Falls Cemetery, and a graveside service will be held on Friday, November 8th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
