Mr. Jeffrey F. Schwartz, 61, of Main Street, Fort Plain, New York died early Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at St. Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam following a long illness.

Born on August 12, 1956 in Cooperstown, NY, he was the son of Raymond G. Schwartz and Charlotte H. Wick Schwartz. He was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 1974 and was a lifelong area resident.

He served in the US Navy.

Mr. Schwartz was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain.

Jeffrey enjoyed fishing, and playing pool at the pool hall with his grandfather.

On September 16, 1992, Jeffrey was married to Phyliss Ann Schwartz.  She preceded him in death on July 24, 1999.  His sister, Sherry Ann Lapi also predeceased him.

Mr. Schwartz is survived by his parents, Raymond and Charlotte Schwartz of Fort Plain, NY; daughter, Angelina and Alvin Puerto of Columbus, OH; brothers, Donald Schwartz, Gary Schwartz, and Christopher and his wife, Diana Schwartz; sisters, Robin Capece, Jean and her husband, Robert Davis, all of Fort Plain, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY.
