Obituary

Mrs. Jane Lasher 83, of Tillboro Road, St. Johnsville, NY, passed away at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, NY on August 8, 2022.

On July 9, 1939, she was born in Starkville, the daughter of Harland and Nancy Grainer Oldick, both who predeceased her.

Jane had attended area country schools, then Fort Plain High School, from which she graduated. In May of 1959 she married Richard "Dick" Lasher. Beyond being a mother and homemaker, she worked at various factories throughout her working career; these included Helmont Mills, Coleco, LaSalle Labs, and lastly Saltsman's Hotel.

She had lived locally in Nelliston and St. Johnsville her whole life. She enjoyed gardening, canning food, cooking, reading, and animals, but especially cats. Many people will remember the bird feeders, deer feeders and the many flowers throughout her yard as well as her huge collection of anything rooster-related. Later in life she had also enjoyed attending senior citizen meetings.

Most of all she loved her family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard; Children and grandchildren: Terry and Rob Freedlander, and their children, Jordan and Maverick; Lorraine and Mickey Wilson, and their children, Alexis and John; Rich and Michelle Lasher, and their daughter, Brittany; sisters Betty Steele, Denise Oldick, and Lucille Oldick; brother, Ramon Oldick; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Entombment will take place Friday, September 9, at 10 a.m., at the Gerald B. Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. A Celebration of Life will also occur.
