Mrs. Helen L. Kaszab, 63, of Witter Street, Fort Plain, NY, passed away on January 9th, 2024, following a long illness at the St. Peters Community Hospice of Albany.

She was born in Elmont, NY, on February 11, 1961, the daughter of Everett Oest and Helen Drake Oest, both of whom predeceased her.

Most recently she was employed in the Fort Plain High School cafeteria.

Helen has lived in the local area since 1999 when she moved here from Bayside Long Island.

She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed shopping, arts and crafts, and watching reality TV shows.

On June 23, 1984, at Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament in Bayshore Long Island, she married Frank Kaszab, together they shared 40 years of marriage, until his passing on June 30th, 2024.

Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer and her husband Raymond Hurteau, and Stephanie Kaszab; grandsons Michael and Matthew; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will be hosting a celebration of Helen's life on February 8th, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Fort Plain Senior Center, Canal Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
