Mrs. Gloria Seligman, 95, formerly of Moyer Street, Canajoharie, New York, died Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at St. Johnsville Rehab and Nursing Center. Born on April 29, 1926 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of John Meditz and Rose Loske Meditz. She received her Bachelor's degree from Siena College. Gloria was the General Accounting Manager for Beech-Nut in Canajoharie for many years. She served as Mayor of Canajoharie from 1993-1994. Mrs. Seligman was a communicant of the former St. Peter's & Paul's Catholic Church in Canajoharie. Gloria was married to John Seligman. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2007. Her daughter, Anne Seligman Rouse also predeceased her. Mrs. Seligman is survived by her sons, Phillip Seligman of Colorado, Gerard Seligman of Pennsylvania, Dakin Seligman of Tennessee; grandchildren, Michael Rouse of Cherry Valley, NY, Scott Seligman of Arizona, Christopher Seligman of Pennsylvania, Andrew Seligman of Pennsylvania, Krista (KC) Seligman of Pennsylvania; several great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2:00PM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. Burial will follow at St. Peter's & Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Canajoharie. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday May 13, 2021 from 5:00-7:00pm at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc. 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
