Obituary

Mrs. Genevive C. Luck, 80, of Northern Terrace, Fort Plain, New York died Friday, May 5, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 27, 1937 in St. Johnsville, NY, she was the daughter of Frank Cook and Catherine Gray Cook. She attended Fort Plain High School and was a lifelong area resident. Most recently Mrs. Luck was employed at the Mohawk Valley Pennysaver in the circulation department in Palatine Bridge. She was a member of the Fordsbush Bible Church. On May 5, 1956 in Fort Plain, NY, Genevive was married to Emory Luck, Sr. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1995. Her sisters, Arvella Cook, Geraldine Cardamone,; brother, Bernard Stever; and granddaughter, Tiffany Jones Kimmel also predeceased her. Mrs. Luck is survived by her 2 sons, Emory Luck, Jr. and Beth of Stone Arabia, NY, Eddison K. Luck and Mary of New Mexico; 6 daughters, Susan A. Jones and Bruce of Fort Plain, NY, Sharon M. Miller and Jim of Fort Plain, NY, Deborah M. Przestrzelski and Jody of Stone Arabia, NY, Elizabeth C. Jones of Little Falls, NY, Brenda L. Congdon and Don of Little Falls, NY, Carol A. Jones of Fort Plain, NY; 4 brothers, Bert Cook of St. Johnsville, NY, Richard Cook of St. Johnsville, NY, Ronald Cook of Gloversville, NY, Raymond Cook of Syracuse, NY; sisters, Patricia Clewis of Syracuse, NY, Barbara Frenyea of Fort Plain, NY; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 2:00pm at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 9th from 12:00-2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
