Carole L. Tylee, 88, formerly of Smithtown, Long Island, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Palatine Bridge Nursing Home.

Carole was born June 4, 1938, in East Meadow, NY, a daughter of Chester and Vera (Miranda) Hewlett. Carole was a loving homemaker in her early years. She started work in her early 40s as the central supply supervisor for Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. She was a former member of the Methodist church in Cleveland, NY. In her spare time, she enjoyed going boating, camping, and snowmobile riding. She was a great cook and loved feeding and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

On November 6, 1954, she married the love of her life, John F. Tylee, at the Lutheran Church in Smithtown and spent 70 years together.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, John, her daughter, Lynne Tylee, her brothers, Robert and Albert Hewlett, and one sister, Jane Guggino.

Survivors include: her children, Karen Elliott, Michael Tylee (Dena), Robert Tylee (Polly), and John Tylee (Michelle), one brother, Thomas Hewlett (Maureen), grandchildren, Stacie Baker (Bruce), Rachel Elliott, Beth Elliott, Thomas Elliott, John Elliott, Christopher Tylee, Lee, Lisa, Matt, TJ, and Tyler, several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carole's memory to a charity of your choice.
